Lipton Instant Soup Mix is a quick, salty chicken broth-style soup that works well as a simple comfort food or base for add-ins. The flavor gets compared to ramen, and it can be used on its own, with noodles, or even turned into gravy with chicken, onion, and evaporated milk. It also fits easy dorm or sick-day meals. The main drawback is the sodium, which is described as extremely high and worth checking closely. Older expiration dates also appeared in at least one shipment, so freshness may be worth confirming.
The mix can be prepared quickly and works well for dorm-style meals when time is limited.
The soup can be customized with add-ins and is described as tasting similar to ramen.
The flavor is described as amazing for salt lovers and can be eaten on its own or with extra ingredients.
The product can be used in homemade-style gravy or hearty soup variations with added ingredients like orzo.
The sodium content is described as extremely high, with calculations reaching about 5,200mg if the whole packet is consumed.
The soup is repeatedly characterized as very salty, with concerns that it is essentially a packet of salt.
The expiration date on at least one delivered order was in January, suggesting older stock may be clearing out.
Serving-size assumptions may lead to even higher sodium per bowl if only a small amount of soup is eaten per serving.
