Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro is a large countertop all in one oven that shines at toasting, baking, broiling, reheating, dehydrating, and air frying. The convection and super convection modes deliver crispier fries and wings, the interior light and adjustable tray positions make it easy to monitor food, and the roomy capacity can replace a full size oven for everyday cooking. The main tradeoff is footprint, since it needs real counter space and ventilation, and the air fryer mode can take a little practice. A strong fit if you want one appliance to do most kitchen jobs.
home cooks who want to replace their regular oven for everyday baking/toasting/broiling and also use air-frying and dehydrating, because commenters say they use it daily and only fire up the big oven a handful of times (and that the controls go very low for food preservation).
buyers who have enough counter space to accommodate a large venting countertop appliance, because commenters advise measuring/assessing counter space and note it's a big unit that needs room to vent.
people with limited counter space who still want an air-fryer-style countertop option, because commenters say it's a good unit for folks who don't have a ton of counter space.
households that plan to use multiple modes (bake/broil/air fry/dehydrate) rather than just basic baking, because one commenter recommends it specifically if you'll use several of the modes and says to get a cheaper unit if you only need baking as a toaster/smaller oven.
buyers who want to air-fry foods like fries and wings and care about crisping, because commenters say air frying makes things a tad crispier and is good for fries and wings.
people who want a countertop oven with strong air-fry features like convection/super convection, adjustable tray heights, and an oven light to watch food, because commenters describe those exact capabilities and say it performs extremely well (with only a possible longer heat-up tradeoff due to size).
buyers who have done research on replacement parts and add-ons and want a long-lasting all-in-one air-fry/toaster-oven setup, because one commenter chose this after comparing options and cited BPA-free racks/parts availability, compatible add-ons, a temperature probe, and 100+ presets.
people who want to use it mainly for reheating and everyday toaster-oven tasks (not full baking), because one commenter says they have no use for the oven functionality but would use the toaster/air-fry features.
buyers who don't have the counter space for a large venting countertop appliance, because commenters warn it's a large unit that needs space to vent and that the bigger model can be too big for some countertops.
people expecting easy cleanup of the air-fryer basket/racks, because one commenter says the wire basket is very hard to clean and another describes grease getting trapped in non-dishwasher racks that require scrubbing.
people who only need basic baking as a toaster/smaller oven, because a commenter says if you only need baking as a toaster/smaller oven then you should get a cheaper unit.
buyers who are sensitive to temperature accuracy and want it to hit target temps exactly, because one commenter reports it runs slightly below the target temperature (confirmed with an external thermometer).
people who want simple, reliable knob operation long-term, because a commenter warns the knob may not properly work after a few years and may take many tries for both oven modes to behave as desired.
shoppers who feel $300 is a hard ceiling and want strong value versus cheaper alternatives, because one commenter says they don't hate it but don't think it's worth $300 compared with a less expensive Cuisinart.
buyers who don't need air-fryer capability at all, because one commenter notes that if you don't need the air fryer capability, a non-air-fryer version is on sale for less.
For many households, yes. Its large capacity and multiple modes make it suitable for baking, broiling, toasting, air frying, and dehydrating, and some owners rarely use their full-size oven anymore.
Yes. It is a large countertop appliance that needs room to vent, so measuring your counter before buying is important. It can replace a regular oven for many meals, but the footprint is bigger than smaller toaster ovens.
The air-fry mode works well and mainly adds extra crispness, especially for fries and wings. It may take a little time to learn the settings, but the convection and super-convection modes are the air frying function.
The crumb tray at the bottom helps catch debris, but the wire basket and racks can be hard to clean after greasy foods. The larger interior also makes it easier to avoid the heating elements when wiping it down.
It can last for years with daily use, and replacement parts like springs are available if something breaks. Some units may develop knob issues after a few years, but long-term owners still describe it as a durable workhorse.
I've had this unit for about a year now; I don't hate it, but I don't think it's worth $300. I replaced a similar Cuisinart unit that was far less expensive; it's much larger than the Cuisinart which is both good and bad (fits more, but obviously takes up more counter space). The Cuisinart was too hot, this one is usually a little below the target temp (I use an external thermometer). Both have the wire basket that is very hard to clean. I've kept mine, but if I had to do it over again, I'd have saved the money. All that said, from everything I've read, it's the best overall all-in-one unit.
Any experience with this vs other air fryers? I had the large cuisinart one for about 10 years. Still works but it's a PITA to clean. The racks hold the grease from chicken tenders and nuggets, and doesn't come off in the dishwasher/scrubbing.I picked up the ninja foodi 10qt this morning but always wanted this Breville. I have no use for the oven functionality, but would use the toaster if it is good. For larger dishes, we have a wolf range, wolf steam/convection oven, and wolf speed oven. So I really don't need it for the baking capability. But I liked the size of the cuisinart for reheating pizza. Not sure how the ninja will work for that.
I have this one for over 10 yrs. It recently had a spring on the left side snap that made the door not close. I opened it up and replaced it with another spring from amazon for around 10 bucks and it works again!.. We use this oven everyday and more than we use the big oven. Highly recommend it as it is a quality workhorse.
If you don't need the air fryer capability, this version of the Breville countertop oven is on sale for $216. We have it and love it.
(Last year's xmas season, it dropped to $200...no telling if it will again!)
That's the same one I have. I felt like an elitist douche to tell anyone that I paid $200 for a toaster oven, but it is amazing. It truly is 5 times better than a $40 toaster oven lol.

This is the exact one I bought November 3, 2021, from Amazon for $223.95. $216 is a great deal! I just love this oven and after 4 years of steady use, rarely use the range oven anymore, the Breville is good as new. It's a great little workhorse. The reheat feature is like no other, we use that a lot too.
Tempted to buy one for a Christmas gift at that price...
Also, I will add, that this wooden cutting board fits perfectly on top of the above linked Breville oven. I mostly bought it to displace the heat as I have the oven sitting on countertop that is under cupboards. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002XTB..._title_0_1
Edit to add: INCLUDED ACCESSORIES: One Oven Rack; 12 x 12 inch Enamel Baking Pan; 12 x12 inch Enamel Broiling Rack and 13 inch Non-Stick Pizza Pan.
The included pans are about all you need for this oven but you can use whatever fits that you would use in your range oven.
