This was pretty fun, but it has the frequent Unreal Engine 5 stutter, and also has a massive difficulty spike after maybe 15-20 hours (your time may vary). This is a Souls-like, but it's very tame until you get to a boss where you drain a huge pond. Then it jumps up several difficulty levels, and actually starts feeling like a Souls game; except that it feels like the game doesn't give you the tools to effectively deal with that difficulty. FromSoftware really is the only dev capable of giving you a very challenging, but fair game. No one balances this genre like they do.

I need to scratch my Dark Souls itch FromSoft needs to come out with another Dark Souls. Elden Ring was really fun, but after 80%, I started to feel I prefer linear progression of the Souls, Seikiro, Bloodborne games. I just want great combat and atmosphere. I may try this game or Life of P.

The thing I found most annoying about this game was the maze level design where everything looks the same. Had to do the 90s games hug the left or right wall on all of the later levels.
