The Ninja Luxe Café Pro Series is a versatile espresso and coffee machine that stands out for built in tamping, hot water for Americanos, and a built in grinder with hands free frothing. The newer features make prep faster and less messy, and the machine can turn out a wide range of drinks, including strong coffee and espresso based drinks. Cleanup is easy, and the single batch brew gets praise for taste. The main caveat is that it does not replace a true drip coffee maker, and the milk temperature and shot guidance are not always perfect. A good fit if you want an all in one setup and can live with some tradeoffs.

  • Americanos drinkers who want built-in hot water, because it avoids keeping a kettle on the counter.

  • Home espresso makers who want a faster, less messy tamping step, because the built-in tamper simplifies prep.

    freakintoddlesadook27

  • People who want a machine for espresso drinks and occasional drip-like coffee, because it makes a broad range of drinks and the single-batch brew is excellent.

    SlackyTomT1340

  • Households that need a full morning pot of coffee, because each drink takes time and it will not replace a drip coffee machine.

    raharu14SiavashS

  • Milk-first drinkers who care most about steaming temperature, because the milk temperature can run hotter than expected and another machine may do better.

    SiavashSSiavashS

  • Espresso drinkers chasing perfect shot consistency, because grind guidance can be off and the results are not perfect every time.

Ninja has it back in stock and on sale now for the same price: https://www.sharkninja.com/ninja-...ES701.html
After browsing to it (while logged in), they even sent me a stackable 10% code. I think I'm still going to wait though.
Wait for a further price drop? It looks to be the black Friday sale. I don't know if it'll drop any more. I've had it in my cart a few days and they haven't sent anything more than a 10% stackable code

That's correct. No, it won't replace your drip coffee machine. What it offers as a regular coffee is just the best attempt of the machine at making something that tastes similar to drip, but it's so much different.

So if your primary method of coffee prep is drip, you'd pass on this for a dedicated drip machine?

Also, remember that the milk temperature on your machine is much better than this one - just in case you were looking for another reason to keep yours.
Can you explain why? I'm contemplating between the 601 and 701 right now.

This may be a silly question, but I've heard mixed reviews about its standard coffee-making ability. If I get this, will it be able to replace my standard coffee machine?
If you're a kind of a person who needs to drink the whole jug of coffee in the morning, no this won't replace the coffee machine. This machine takes some time to make each drink, and you would be consuming far more caffeine if you were to drink in the same volume.

But this one will make far better tasting coffee for sure.

Way too expensive for that. Get a $50 coffee maker, drip though good paper filter tastes so much different than Americano or espresso. I find Americano to lack flavor ubless you do 4 shots, which is a waste at that point. I am waiting for a better carafe coffee maker with espresso option, no frother, no hot water, no finicky gimmicky attachments.

Ah - yeah I already have a grinder and a Bambino with a drip coffee maker. Was looking trying to consolidate counter space.

I picked up the refurb 601 on Ebay for $379 with some barely noticable blemishes on the contral panel. Outstanding machine that included a two-year Allstate waranty. And for Americanos I simply microwave water in a ceramic vessel with handle and add accordinly to the espresso. You really don't need that extra feature. One more thing, the single bacth coffee brew is excellent.

Well, it's honestly not for me to explain it but those who designed the two machines. But my theory is that the new machine has a second layer for the wand - to make cleaning easier (not Breville-level easier, but easier than the premier wand), but they didn't recalibrate the thermometer accordingly for the new wand design.
So, you'll get a wand that's easier to clean, but much hotter milk.
