what does intense mean? positive/negative? is it suitable for general and video/movie viewing purposes?

I love the 800r curve, it's super immersive and perfect if you sit at the right distance from the monitor

Basically means some people like it and some don't. Personally I like the intense curve as it helps with immersion. Funny enough when I tried out some flat monitors they felt convex because I was too used to the 800r curve.

Haven't used curved monitor yet, but my two 27 monitors are setup angled towards me, so I am sure I would like the curved monitors.

i'd encourage people to see the 800R curve in person before dismissing it as too curved. if you are looking at it properly it looks like a flat screen and you dont even notice the curve.

that aside i wouldn't buy a 45" that isn't 5k2k resolution as the PPI is pretty low and noticeable.

I had this screen (is a different brand but LG makes all the screens). Something you want to watch out for is the aggressive auto white balance, as well as text reading experience. This is a fine for media consumption, but if you are going to use us to do any office work you are likely going to return this in heartbeat. Just imagine the screen brightness changes automatically based on how much black content and white content you are displaying. For example if you have Outlook open, with the message preview on the right panel. Clicking through each message will make your screen brightness change like strobe light. also reading text file on this this just not a pleasant experience due to diamond pixel array.
the bigger the screen the more pronounce the problem is. my 2.8k 14-in OLED laptop screen does not have those problem, but my 77 inch tv, as well as 45 in monitor, suffers greatly.

Picked up an excellent condition. Box was open but everything inside was still in original protective covers. Looks like someone just opened the box and returned it. Great deal!

Yup I bought the Costco deal 39" and sold it because of the 800r curve. It's kind of ridiculous in my opinion. My Alienware 38" has a 1800r curve.....LOL!

be very careful with best buy open box, and DO NOT listen to their phone customer service. I went on a wild goose chase to two different best buys across my region. Their phone support will lie to you consistently. First open box excellent had a dead pixel and serial number swapped, second one had 7045 hours of being on.

for the most part their open box condition scale seems to be based on physical condition, not the functionality of the monitor or how long it's been used

I picked up an Excellent Condition, only issue was missing remote. I have 2 LG TVs at home and won't need the remote after initial setup. Monitor was completely unused so I took the extra amount off they offered and walked out with essentially a new monitor for $575.
I, personally, love the curve. It is more than others but I think it suits this screen size well and is very immersive. Gaming is amazing at full resolution/240hz.

in the settings you can find "total power on time" for the lifetime of the monitor . its under support and then monitor information. i bought a open box excellent and mine is in perfect cosmetic condition. the total power on time is at 3 hours

I used this monitor for more than a year. I had no issues with fonts or white balance it was beautiful in that way. What I did have an issue with, was the constant requirement to run the monitor maintenance to keep the display in good shape.
