I need a new tv in this size and price range but my new tv room won't be finished until March. Should I take the plunge now and store it for a few months or hold out for a better price or tv on Black Friday or later?

I would wait until Feb next year as there are CES and superbowl in Feb and the prices might come down on the older models

Technology is (almost always) getting cheaper and better. If you can possibly hold off on anything, particularly technology related, do so. There will always be another sale. Yes, some things are cyclical (now is a bad time to buy RAM, for example), but for most consumer electronics products, the above is very true - typically in a year you'll pay about the same amount, but get a better product.

I ordered the 98" TCL QM8K last week for delivery and installation at $2,999 last week which puts the price difference at $1000 from the QM7K. I didn't mind a $500 difference, but I don't think there is $1000 worth of difference. What are the chances of the QM8K getting a similar $500 reduction in price so I can price match? Should I swap to the QM7K for the cost savings?

a local store has excellent open box for 1800... very tempting but what if the price drops to 1800 for BF or something? I guess there's no way to price match an open box item?

I would jump on it! If the price drops, BB can deliver the new one, and pick up the other while there for return processing.
