This feeder comes with removable bee guards. Simply slip the guard over the base of the feeding port to prevent bees from reaching the nectar. Remove the guard for a more thorough scrub when cleaning the feeder.

the oriole feeders that use a jar of grape jelly directly are immensely easier. Just screw a jar of Welch's on it your done (for a few days ... my orioles are voracious eaters).

Albeit this is immensely less expensive. The jelly jar feeders do go on sale though. I got mine for $10 a few years ago.

I got a few of them around my house in the beginning of May (Northern Illinois). They came to check the hummingbird feeder since it's the same color like the one in the picture.
