I bought this soap when it was on sale at Walgreen's for roughly 50 cents/bar. It is mediocre. Doesn't lather well, doesn't smell the best, and it left a weird film on my skin. Dial Spring Water is the best antibacterial soap I've found. For non anti-bacterial soap, I like Coast, cheap, lathers well, and smells great (like the 80s)

I could get 12 packs cans of Coke for $2 then too, now they are $4-5 a pop. And this soap was fairly new then, probably an aggressive price to gain adoption.
I switched from Dove to goat milk soap (no I am not making that up), and have not looked back since. The GM soap is more expensive, but lasts, much much longer, does not dry out my skin, can be used for shaving and washing your hair as well.

Been using this for 5 years. Smells better than original. Lathers just the same as original. And maybe you have hard water otherwise never felt any film unless I'm in Arizona or something with crappy water. The orange antibacterial one that one's....shit. it will crack open when left out long enough pretty much telling you there's nearly no moisturizers in it and would make the smile lines in my face itch/bothersome
I switched to this from Dial Gold— i used that for like 20 years—with Dove I see less hair fall. Not kidding! Yeah I use it at times in hurry to wash hair with also. Don't have issues with soap film or anything. Been using this for 3 weeks now and very happy with results.

Negative. He actually got a slick deal and it was at least 3 years old in 2021. And they also used to be 4oz bars.
I purchased 20bars (4oz) for $14 in 2018.
