Same boat. Now Santa brings a "family gift" for my son (AND I). Lol
This was my household. Bought the P1S combo and said it's for my son's, maybe I'll use it too. Wife asked them, do you even want anything from Santa?
200 print hours later we have a collection of- articulating dragons, fidget toys, 6 7 figures and other random prints.

Ugh. I caved too early on the P1S...now I am having regrets. Was expecting the price to be a lot higher.
Just buy this one too for your collection 😀

Received confirmation from BestBuy that my printer has shipped and will be delivered tomorrow.
Also, I see the pending points on my paypal account.
Now I just need to read through this thread again and figure out what else I should buy for the printer like filaments and stuff.

Could use some help.
Purchased from Best Buy
A1C Bundle (including 2 Filaments)

Cost: $415 + 12% Cashback (capone)
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/comb...3c3b033e10

It's my son's first printer. Should I return that and grab a P1S instead with the 20% PayPal cashback?

The simpler the better starting off until you start to feel more confident about basic printing, before going nuts with all the available filaments and accessories . Would simply start out with one of the Bambu Labs filaments like the basic PLA, which automates the filament profile via RFID tags and minimizes drying requirements until you learn the ropes and get some successful prints. Out of the box, this is all you need to get started.

FYI these come with the top steel x-axis bars unlubed, and ppl recommend to apply light layer since it's not there by default. The old carbon fiber rods didn't need it.

For others following along...

Bambu Lab P2S Maintenance Summary

The P2S uses steel X-axis rods that ship unlubricated. Unlike older carbon fiber rods, these require a light layer of lubricant to ensure smooth motion and prevent wear. Bambu Labs officially recommends using their own lubricant oil or a synthetic lightweight oil such as Super Lube. Graphite and general-purpose oils like 3-in-1 are not advised, as they can gum up or fail to protect the rods properly.

Steps:
1. Power off the printer and clean rods with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
2. Apply a thin, even layer of recommended lubricant oil.
3. Wipe off excess to avoid attracting dust.
4. Follow Bambu's maintenance schedule: monthly for heavy use, every two months for regular use, every three months for light use.

Key Point:
Steel rods on the P2S require lubrication, while older carbon fiber rods did not. Use only Bambu's recommended oil or synthetic lightweight alternatives for best results.

For the P2S steel rods, Super Lube Synthetic Oil with PTFE is the best generic choice, and sewing machine oil is a perfectly acceptable budget alternative. Both are widely available and match Bambu's official recommendations

In for 1 at Best Buy. Will see how many of the moving parts on this order work as intended (PP, portal, CC rewards, etc.). Thanks OP.

Couldn't get the PayPal deal, will patiently wait for Bambu to put this on sale. I'm hoping we'll see a better price soon, perhaps by Christmas.
