Yes, I will call you crazy and say that you're missing a LOT of things.

A tablet+bluetooth for joysticks and controls is not the same as a full handheld device.

This is a complete device that you can pick up and play with, then put away. It is EXTREMELY more portable.

Why would you want to hack together something and then use a TV or a monitor to display it? The whole point is that it's portable and compact.

This isn't a solution to replace PC gaming or console gaming. So you need to stop looking it through that type of lens.

I received my Open Box - Excellent model and am very pleased so far; it wasn't brand new like some folks' (how does that even happen?) but there's barely a speck of dust visible on it. The charger had been unraveled but is in excellent condition. I'm excited to find time to play a couple of games on this!

Received my open box excellent and it's in great condition. The only thing that's a little odd is that the L1 and R1 button are clicky and kinda seem loud/cheap. Anyone else have this with theirs? L1 is also a bit louder than R1. Not a deal breaker but could be a problem if someone is sleeping close by while playing.

I was perfectly happy with my ROG Ally Z1X but my local Best Buy had a Open Box fair so I rolled the dice. Turns out it was fair because it was literally just the handheld, nothing else - no box, charger, cables or any accessories but the device looks brand new and works flawlessly so I'm going to keep it. Besides, I have USB-C PD chargers everywhere. With the 20% PayPal it was $390!

I picked mine up locally, open box excellent. It was brand new. Had been opened but even the charger was still packed. Not a single ding, dent, or even fingerprint on it. Great deal with 20% paypal

This worked out great, at roughly $400 after tax and paypal, this is solid! Now to figure out how to put windows and steamOS in a dual boot type setup so I can play my gamepass ultimate downloads as well as my steam library. Wish me luck!

Return policy for Open Box at Best Buy is same as new which is extended to January for the Holidays. I specifically asked when I picked mine up.

I got my screen protectors delivered and went to put it on the open box unit I picked and realized it already had one on it. It was applied so perfectly I didn't even notice. Thank you mystery person!
