I'm a Souls guy that could not get into this game. Got as far as the first boss. I wasn't expecting it to be a Souls game, just that it would hit a similar thrill in the combat.

I've tried most Souls games and just couldn't get into them. This one was no different...at first. I was getting demolished by an early boss, then I had what everyone describes as "the click" and it's been one my fav games this generation. So much so its inspired my to go back and try the other Souls games. Pvp is fun.

I really enjoyed this on release. Its challenging and rewards trial and error to find what mech style suits your combat approach. The disc version may actually have the unpatched version (on ps4/ps5) if you want some insane difficulty for a few bosses.

I enjoyed all the endings and replaying the alternate missions. For me the bite sized nature of the missions really kept it from feeling tedious even if i was trying for the highest mission rank.

I think this game also has some of the best set piece/boss fights and voice acting (similar to the wow factor in FF16) that ive experienced in recent years.

It's a great game with a lot of customization. The first boss is hard because you're new and you don't have access to any other weapons, so you have to make due with what you have. Push to get past the first boss and you'll be rewarded with a great game.
