I can only compare Bose QC 1 gen and AirPods pro 2 as I own both. Fitment is very personal, some ppl like QC but for me AirPods are more comfortable. Bose sounds better for sure, but not by much. My friend who is very musical prefers Bose. Big problem with bose is connectivity. It is usually ok, but when it is not ok it's such a PITA. AirPods have much better case, connect faster, more stable, the microphone for calls is MUCH better. The way AirPods work with multiple devices in night and day, granted all my devices are apple. Noise cancellation is slightly better in Bose, but depends on what environment you're in. For biking for example Bose is really unusable because of the wind noise. All in all, I use airpods almost exclusively in my day to day life because of comfort and connectivity. I guess the current gen is very similar.
If order from Walmart, plus members get free 1 day shipping.
Choose payment method pay later with PayPal (4 interest free payments) and get 20% cash back from PayPal. Make sure you activate the PayPal offer under rewards.
You can also have a rewards credit card for payment through Paypal and get additional cash back from the credit card company and do a link from something like Top Cashback into the Walmart site for more cash back.
AirPods Pro 3 stand out as a strong upgrade for Apple users, with excellent noise cancellation, a snug foam tip fit, fast device switching, and much better call quality than older AirPods. The comments also highlight solid isolation for noisy places, plus useful extras like translation and heart rate sensing. On the deal side, Walmart and Best Buy can stack with PayPal or Amex offers, and Apple has a $50 gift card promo. The main cautions are that fit can be hit or miss, the sound focused crowd may prefer cheaper alternatives, and counterfeit risk matters on marketplace listings. A good pick if you want the Apple ecosystem perks.
buyers who plan to use PayPal at checkout to try for the 20% cash back because commenters describe activating the PayPal offer and then selecting PayPal "Pay Later" during Walmart checkout to make the discount apply.
iPhone users who want the easiest multi-device switching and more reliable call mic performance because commenters say AirPods Pro 3 connect faster, pair more stably, and switch between Apple devices "in night and day," with a "MUCH better" microphone for calls.
people shopping at Walmart who can stack an Amex Platinum offer because one commenter says there may be an additional 25% off up to $25 off on Walmart.com purchases when you have the Amex Platinum offer.
shoppers who want a snugger in-ear fit for active use because commenters say the foam-infused tips on Pro 3 create a snugger fit than Pro 2 and help them wear the earbuds for lots of activities (including sleeping and even shower use).
people who need strong isolation in loud outdoor settings because one user says they can listen to podcasts while mowing or using a leaf blower, and another says the ANC performs strongly in noisy environments.
people who want to buy without doing the PayPal checkout steps because commenters say you may need to select the Pay Later option (and sometimes remove PayPal from the Walmart account) for the deal to work.
people who only care about sound and ANC and don't need Apple-specific features because one commenter says if you're only worried about sound/ANC, to skip these and buy Soundcore Liberty 5 for $90 instead.
runners who are sensitive to fit-related clicking because a commenter reports occasional right-ear clicking feedback when running, which they attribute to seal movement.
buyers who were counting on the Walmart PayPal 20% offer if it's no longer available to them because one commenter says the PayPal 20% cashback for Walmart "is dead."
Yes, the Walmart checkout can stack with PayPal's 20% cashback offer if you activate it in PayPal's rewards tab and choose Pay Later/Pay in 4 during checkout. Some setups require removing PayPal from Walmart first and reselecting it so the Pay Later option appears; the cashback has shown as pending points after purchase.
AirPods Pro 3 are described as having better noise cancellation, a more bass-tuned sound, a redesigned fit with foam-infused tips, and a translation feature. AirPods Pro 2 are still considered strong, so the upgrade is most compelling if you want the newer fit, ANC, and Apple-only features.
The Amex Platinum offer can give 25% back as a statement credit on eligible Walmart.com purchases, up to $25 total, when used online by 12/31/2025. It may stack with the Walmart price, but the credit is capped and depends on the offer being enrolled on your card.
Yes, they still work on Android and on PCs, with the main controls functioning normally. Apple devices unlock more features and smoother device switching, but the earbuds are still usable outside the Apple ecosystem.
Costco is the better value if you want AppleCare, because the bundle was cited at $249 with AppleCare included. Buying the earbuds separately at Walmart or Amazon can be cheaper upfront, but AppleCare adds extra cost.

I logged into my PayPal, went to the rewards tab, and activated the offer. Then I checked out at Walmart with PayPal, hopefully the 20% applies. Thanks for the tip!
If you paid through Paypal, you have to make sure you selected the Pay Later option. If you already have Paypal setup in Walmart then you are not likely to get the 20%.
I had to dig a bit deeper but you can force Paypal to use the Pay Later option by removing the Paypal payment in Walmart if you had it setup before. Then during check out you select other payment options then choose Paypal, you'll get redirected to login and there will be multiple choices in the Paypal account, choose the Pay Later. Thanks for these instructions caldvn, does this mean it's only available if you have the PayPal master card?

I ended up activating the offer in my PayPal rewards, reordered through Walmart with removing and logging back in my PayPal account and choosing pay later 4 payments. Thanks! Edit: Also see pending 2406 points under my PayPal account.

Nope, you just accept the 20% cashback offer logging into Paypal, and during the option to pay later in 4 payments you can select a credit card or bank account to do the pay later option. Assuming the Amex thing works you may get to double dip but I'm not sure if Amex is option to payback via Paypal.
I just want earbuds with really great phone call quality, where people don't have any trouble hearing me. Are these the best for that, or what should I get?

Does the pay in 4 installments option show up after you hit place order in Walmart app? I tried multiple times adding and removing the paypal payment method but it never shows me the 4 installments option.

it showed for me when I clicked in PayPal , payment method; card , bank account , PayPal credit, or 4 payments.

Thanks for the deeper dive, I had to remove my Paypal from my Walmart account to enable pay in 4, thanks!
I have the airpods pro 3. I use an iphone for work and android for personal use. I've never owned airpods before now, and as I understand, the fitment is a little snugger with the AP3's vs AP2's due to the new foam infused tips. I have a pair of Bose QC3 over the ear headphones, and I'd say the sound isolation is on par with those. I am able to listen to podcasts while mowing the lawn or using a leaf blower, which is otherwise pretty difficult to impossible with my previous cheap earbuds. Just yesterday, I had a coworker at the desk next to me talking really loudly on the phone and was distracting me on my own phone call. His voice cut right through my over the ear logitech headphones, so I popped in my airpods and he was gone. Amazing.
You get a little more features and control when using the airpods with Apple products (of course), but they're still very capable on Android and all the main controls work just fine. And, as you mentioned, the device switching is fantastic - a huge step up from my cheapy earbuds that I used to use before where switching devices involved a repairing process. Instead of re-pairing, I just tell whichever device I've picked up to connect to them and they switch immediately.
I push my airpods pretty hard night and day. I wear them spinning, sleeping, in the shower. They do it all. One downside - I'm normally not a runner, but on one occasion I did take them out for a run, I did get some clicking feedback in my right ear. Sounds like it's a somewhat common problem having to do with the seal of your ear moving while running, etc. Some people have developed some workarounds that they say work.
All in all, I love them and give them a 10/10. There may be sales in the future that drop them down even lower than this, but these are such a life upgrade that they're not even worth waiting for sales.
The headline here is obviously that you wear air pods in the shower. I mean...WHAT???

Generally the 3s are better, especially in the noise cancellation dept, but the 2s are no slouch. The 3s are more bass tuned if that is a factor for you either way. The 3s also have the translation feature which can be handy if you travel internationally.
Perhaps the biggest difference though is fit. The 3s case was totally redesigned, and as usual because everyone's ears are different, some love the change others hate it, just like the 2s.
Apple did push though a lot of updates on the 2 so they should continue to be relevant for a few more years. Can't go wrong either way. You get what you pay for here, but the Pro 2's are bargain priced now compared to the regular AirPods 4s with charging case.
