Got one. Thanks OP. I hope these aren't too nasty. I have received some used like-new items before through resale and they weren't in excellent used conidtion. Here is my total.

Sony's WH 1000XM6 like new listing stands out as a strong way to get the model for far less than new, with prices landing around $248 to $287 after discounts and tax. The XM6 is praised for fixing the XM5 hinge and compact folding issues, and it can play audio over Bluetooth or 3.5 millimeter while charging through USB C. Several arrivals came with original packaging, all accessories, and no scuffs, though some units showed battery charge around 74 to 90 percent. The main risk is condition and fulfillment, with reports of missing cables, broken hinges, and even wrong models like XM5 or XM3 in the box, so the deal hinges on a careful return process.

Common Questions (6)

  • Prices reported in the thread range from about $248 to the high $200s depending on color and discounts, with some totals around $197 to $272 after tax and promos. The silver/platinum silver options were sometimes cheaper than black.

    cmccann1992Premiereronvjsd_junky

  • It can arrive with everything included, including the 3.5mm cable and original-style packaging. Several reports also mention no scuffs and battery levels around 74% to 90%, which suggests many units are barely used.

    JakeS5663PremiereHibsonHibson

  • Yes. Some orders have arrived as XM5s or even XM3s instead of XM6s, and one report says a unit arrived missing all the wires. That makes checking the box contents and model number immediately after delivery important.

    earnalivingdriftwood070Qwerty1231raulgrande

  • The XM6 is reported to have addressed the XM5 hinge problems and to fold more compactly than the XM4, but hinge breakage is still being reported on some units. That makes the model better than the XM5 on paper, but not immune to damage in used condition.

    driftwood070SquattingHenMbeach

  • Yes. The XM6 can be used over Bluetooth or with the 3.5mm cable while charging through USB-C, which is a new convenience feature compared with older XM models.

    cntrl23mysteryihs

  • Yes. Turning off Adaptive Sound Control and Speak-to-Chat can stop the noise cancellation from seeming to drop out unexpectedly. That behavior can look like a defect until the settings are changed.

I can't say from personal experience but everything I've read says the mx5 ruined the hinge from the 4 in terms of reliability and ability to fold them compactly. Also that the mx6 addressed and fixed both of these issues. I've been eyeing these cans for awhile but didn't want to pay 400 plus and for 287 after tax for the black I'm going to give them a try. Hoping used like new in this case just means someone ordered a d immediately returned them.
6's have similar hinge break issues

Grabbed a silver - crossing my fingers it is actually like-new. I bought an SSD in the last prime day and it was broken and didn't even have original packaging.
My Samsung 990 Pro SSD was swapped with another brand and lower capacity. I think the headsets are safer.

Haven't tried Sony, but I have been declined on other brands as it wasn't new.
