I called Uniden.
New purchases have a 1 year.
Like New carry NO WARRANTY.

They do have a flat fee repair of $99 for the r8 if you are out of warranty

Waze relies on people to mark police locations. If you're the first one down the road to notice him, it's useless. Doesn't work on patrolling police vehicles either. I view Waze as supplemental to a radar detector. It in no way replaces one.

These are a tool to understand your current situation. You can use it properly and get lots of benefit or use it wrong and screw things up.... But to assert Waze is all that is needed demonstrates a lack of understanding. Waze is just another tool that help you understand your current situation.

Caution when purchasing even though it's Amazon resale. I got a like new r7 during the October sale and it promptly began to smoke when I plugged it in via USB to update.

I've purchased 6 Used Uniden radar detectors from amazon. 2 R3, 2 R7 and 2 R8. All where like new in packaging. I only have the R8 versions after selling the others as I upgraded models. This is a great price.

Pays for itself with one ticket avoided. That said, not sure of buying a used detector. The issue with these is heat exposure and how they are treated. The antennas and electronics are subject to being impacted by the environment and treatment. That said, the R7 is the best detector I've ever owned and I've had a bunch. This is next level with all the new features in addition to the long range and excellent anti-falseing tech. The best detectors don't go off much due to false inputs, making them more effective when they do.
