Community Reviews
Nex Playground is an active play system that keeps young kids moving with simple motion games, and the subscription keeps adding new titles and fitness apps. The built in library includes five games, with optional sports add ons, and it works well in small spaces and even offline after downloads, making it useful for travel or hospital rooms. The main drawback is the ongoing paid subscription, and the platform has some uncertainty around long term support. Still, the strong kid appeal and steady content updates make it feel like a practical pick for families.
parents of kids who need something to burn energy in winter because the kids play it at least weekly and it keeps them active when going outside is harder
families looking for a travel-friendly activity for young kids because once the games are downloaded you can play offline, and commenters say they've used it for hotel stays
children's hospital or therapy programs that want a simple, trackable way to get kids moving because a commenter running a gaming program said it fully supplanted Wii requests, has good tracking, and works even in small bedside spaces
parents of pre-k to early elementary kids who want a mindless setup that still works in noisy, crowded spaces because commenters describe it as limited but perfect for little kids and something that "just works" without needing phone-camera AR
buyers who are okay with a subscription as long as new content keeps coming because owners report a shockingly high number of new games/fitness apps and say it still sees daily use from their young kids
people who want long-term confidence in ongoing support because commenters warn the secondary-console track record isn't good and compare it to Xbox Kinect, saying it's subscription-based and they'd be surprised if it's still supported in 8-10 months
shoppers who don't want to pay ongoing fees because multiple commenters say the games require a paid subscription, and one recommends giving it away or selling it under $50

The system is on sale everywhere for $199 now. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll probably be that way through Christmas. An even better deal is at Sam's Club if you're a member, because they've got the bundle with the travel case for the same $199 price. Since you don't need to be online to play this once you've downloaded the games, the system is great for traveling. We've taken ours for a couple hotel stays and it has been awesome.
