Panasonic is basically dead in the U.S., but for cinephiles and those who prioritize picture accuracy, Panasonic is a gold standard, if not the only king in this category.
LG and Samsung are oversaturated with this color; Sony is great, but slowly dying because the majority of people prefer oversaturated color instead of color accuracy.

If you search for Panasonic outside of the U.S., they're very reliable and worth the money.

Agreed, they have been for years.

I'm really hoping Costco will carry their new 95b displays!
Would love to see those new panels and HCX chipset!

Heck I'll even take a new player with the new HCX chipset!

I'm glad to see Panasonic back in the US TV game, but what on earth made them choose Fire TV for their smart features?

Panasonic has always been up there for quality and reliability with brands like Sony. Having been out of the US market for over 10 years, most young people then who are working adults now, don't have any awareness of the brand's reputation. As a result, Panasonic sales are not what they could/should be.

People who recognize the brand buy it. See my comment below.

Panasonic is a high quality brand. They aren't like Toshiba or Pioneer who sold off their good name.

I mean this Panasonic (or the Z95B) is literally the same panel as the LG G5
However the Panasonic is much better overall surprisingly thanks to its engineers.

Their deal with Amazon was the only way they could re-enter the U.S market.
Hence the Fire TV OS mandate and low in-store retail availability.
