Just FYI if you dont care about your dogs health go with something better.

Nulo (Freestyle adult kibbles) have substantially more crude protein than Royal Canin Medium Adult. Nulo adult dry recipes typically list ~30–31% crude protein (many high-protein Freestyle recipes show 30%+), while Royal Canin Medium Adult is 23% crude protein (minimum).

A little more detail so you can pick:

Protein numbers (guaranteed analysis)

Royal Canin Medium Adult (23–55 lb) — Crude Protein (min) 23.0% on the product page.
Royal Canin

Nulo Freestyle / Nulo adult dry formulas — most Freestyle adult kibbles show ~30% (some recipes 30–31% or labeled "High-Protein" at 30%) in the guaranteed analysis; specific flavors vary.

Protein quality / source

Nulo emphasizes a high percentage of animal-based proteins (their Freestyle line states ~80–87% of protein from animal sources), which generally gives a stronger amino-acid profile per gram of protein.
Nulo

Royal Canin focuses on breed/size-tailored, highly digestible proteins and overall balanced nutrition for medium adult dogs rather than maximizing crude protein percentage.
Royal Canin

Which is "better"?

If your dog is active, needs higher protein to maintain lean muscle, or you prefer a higher animal-protein kibble, Nulo's Freestyle high-protein recipes are the stronger choice on raw protein content and animal-protein share.

If your dog is a typical adult medium breed with average activity, has weight-management needs, or benefits from a formula designed specifically for medium-breed adult physiology, Royal Canin Medium might be a better fit because it's tailored for that size and lifecycle.
Royal Canin

Practical notes

Nulo has multiple adult recipes — check the exact bag (flavor/line) because crude protein can differ across formulas (but most Freestyle adults are ~30%+).

Always consider calorie density, fat, fiber, any food sensitivities, and your dog's age/activity/weight when picking a food — not just crude protein.

When switching foods, do it gradually and talk with your veterinarian if your dog has health issues (kidney disease, pancreatitis, obesity, etc.) where protein level matters.

For dry I switch between Orijen and Acana. Orijen has 40% protein, Acana is 33%. I also feed wet in the form of dehydrated Honest Kitchen (which is obviously rehydrated when I feed it). When I put them down together, he goes for the Honest Kitchen first. I have avoided Royal Canin as it seems to be mostly chicken based and I only feed salmon or fish based.

Not sure which one you're referencing, but they have the best Feline Weight management food with the lowest calorie count. The cat we rescued was extremely overweight and we were able to get her down to a healthy 10.5 lbs using Royal Canin. The lower calorie count allowed her to eat enough to feel full and not go searching for food in the middle of the night, all the while gradually losing the weight at a healthy rate without harming her kidneys. Incredibly worth it.
