This is better than the F35 at Best Buy....Google TV way better than Fire TV OS

Community Reviews

This TCL S5 55 inch Google TV stands out for its Google TV interface and budget 4K HDR picture, with the platform preferred over Fire TV and the set described as still going strong. The QLED panel is called out as brighter and more vivid, which should help the image pop. The main cautions are that Target pickup appears to be local only, and the Target.com ratings are very poor under the newer 2.0 system. Target also has a holiday price match policy through December 24, 2025.

Google TV on the TCL S5 is preferred over Fire TV OS for streaming navigation and app experience.

Target chat reportedly issued a $30 plus tax refund through Target Circle Bonus after checkout.

Target's holiday price match policy reportedly allows requesting a price adjustment if the price drops before December 24, 2025.

Cash App Target 20% back and PayPal Pay in 4 20% back promos reportedly add extra savings options.

Local pickup only reportedly limits availability because shipping is not offered for the discount.
poofyhairguy
Target.com reviews reportedly rate the TV very poorly, which raises reliability and satisfaction concerns.
clearanceoilking84
Using a 20% off coupon reportedly resulted in a price below $169, which may require a buy-and-return workaround.
Cheapsk8Dude
The discount reportedly appears to be tied to Target Circle Bonus mechanics that can be confusing to redeem.

Common Questions (3)

The TCL S5 is preferred over the Best Buy TCL F35 because it uses Google TV instead of Fire TV OS. Google TV is the main reason given for choosing this model.
goosedude RxJx21
The offer appears to be local pickup only, with no shipping option shown. That makes it a store-pickup deal rather than a delivered purchase.
poofyhairguy
Target's holiday price match policy allows a price adjustment if the item's price goes lower at Target before December 24, 2025. That can make it worth buying now if you expect a further drop.

I just got a $30 + tax refund on chat. Mine is still at the store for pickup but I bet it doesn't matter.

I am screwed because I used the 20% off coupon and my price was less than 169. I would have to do the buy and return trick that someone else mentioned.

I have the same, but TCL, it's still going strong. But this is a Google TV, which may or may not matter.

5.9 on rtings.com. I don't think I've seen anything that low.

Its their new 2.0 rating system. All lower end TV's are going to be between 5-6. They said they were giving low end TV's too high a rating on the old system. So ratings for low end TV's prior to this year probably got high 6's or even low 7's

So you're saying that the ratings are now preemptively biased.

Just ordered this for $199 today, does Target have price protection guarantee? At least I had a 20% off coupon.

Target's holiday price match policy allows customers to request a price adjustment if the price of a product purchased in-store or online goes lower at Target before December 24, 2025
