Apple forces their service for all iPhones, but there's no forced use on Android phones. It's why I'm going to buy a cheap iPhone just for tracker use. In my country iPhones are 60% market share.

In America Apple is 58% and Samsung is only 22%. That's a huge advantage to using Apple trackers because all those phones will track your device vs only a portion of the Android phones that have agreed to run the service.

It wouldn't be worth buying without being able to replace the batteries yourself.
