I don't think it's anywhere as good as the Star Wars games. Much more linear, in my opinion. I love Lego games but this one is my least favorite.

If you get Horizon Forbidden West go for the complete edition. The DLC missions, weapons etc are post main story, but the actual character skill tree stuff (which IMO adds greatly to the combat) will be available from the beginning. It gives some variety to the melee combat and is probably a precursor to how it combat will evolve for the third game.
