This mug warmer stands out for getting much hotter than typical desk warmers, with a timer, multiple temperature settings, and settings memory that make it useful for all day coffee or tea. It works with a range of mugs, and the flat, hot plate also makes it handy for candle wax or wax melts. The main caution is heat, since the plate can get hot enough to burn skin and the lowest setting still runs hot for some setups. A solid pick if you want real heat retention and can handle the temperature.

Common Questions (4)

  • The heating plate can get hot enough to burn skin, and it may be too hot even on the lowest setting. The timer turns it off after 30 minutes to 9 hours, but it should still be treated like a hot appliance and not touched on the plate.

  • Yes. It is reported to run much hotter than typical mug warmers, with the liquid reaching around 170°F rather than settling into the 140-150°F range common on weaker units. It works best with a mug that has a large, flat contact area.

  • Yes. It can be used as a candle or wax-melt warmer by placing wax in a small glass or ceramic container on the plate. The built-in auto-shutoff timer is a useful feature for that use.

  • It works with regular mugs, including everyday mugs used all day, and the unit remembers your settings. It is also reported to work well for desk use and as a daily warmer.

Could this be used to heat up bottles of silicone diff oil (for rc cars) to make it flow easier? I know weird question, but just wondering.
Yes, but these get much hotter than the usual mug warmers that top out at 140F or so.

I bought it a few months ago as a SD deal, but returned it immediately. It was way too hot even at the lowest settings and could burn skins. Could it be a fire hazard? I don't know, but don't expect a precise temp sensor controll.
I have these and love them. It's better than other mug warmers because these get way hotter. The problem with other warmers is that they don't get hot enough and their claimed 172F is reduced to like 140 or 150 by the time it hits the liquid, so you're sipping kind of warm liquid. As a result, you need a cup with a lot of flat contact area to get the quotes temps. This is different, it tops out at 170F or something and it means it. Your liquid will definitely be 170F so of course it's got to be hot enough. Do you touch a hot pan or pot, get burned and then complain how hot it is? Just don't touch the hot part and you won't get burned. Smh.

Iirc, the lowest setting of the unit I got was 60C or 145F. My infrared thermometer measured it about 100C or 200F. I am sure that the temperature will be lowered once a cup is put on it. But I cannot risk to burn my or someone's hand if a cup is not on this thing for a few minutes, not mentioning fire risks. There are tow factors: temperature control and power output, two different things, and both are important to an appliance like this .

I love using these for scented wax melts. Just take a small glass or ceramic container, place a wax melt or two in it, and place it right on the warmer. I've been looking for one with an auto-shutoff timer like this, so definitely going to pull the trigger at this price point!

I love how its been $9.99 forever but somehow on Black Friday you're saving a bazillion dollars off a price its never been. Even the variation next to it shows its normal price...
I think you mean to say it's 20% off. That's a slick deal in my book.

This is the EXACT question I had, thank you!

Can I ask where you get your wax melts?? I prefer honeysuckle, cherry blossom, or similar.

I searched for UL in reviews, and the AI thing confirmed it is UL certified.

I have no way to verify if the temp setting is correct, but yes it gets very hot.

The timer does work, and the unit remembers your settings.

Like it so far.

Yes, you could even put them in a mug with some warm water to more evenly heat the diff oil.

Sure, whatever fits your narrative. Want me to post my receipts? I commented because I used them and liked them, but I guess I'm fake.

That's what the timer function is for. Turns off in 30min-9h. If max temp is too hot for you, you can turn it down. What do you do about a stove btw? Because it has all the same issues you have with this mug warmer and doesn't even have a precise temperature control. Surely you can't risk that either?

I had something similar on my desk at work. Burned my finger on it. Once.
People, do yourself a favor and get a good thermal travel mug from Zojirushi, Stanley, Thermos or another quality name. I've been very happy with Zojirushi because it keeps the coffee hot for hours, doesn't leak and is made well. Things to look for in a travel mug: handle or not; how does top open; doesn't leak; sip feel; and size.
