I got one off of ebay for about 400 USD and the auto sensing feature was bust - oddly enough I had to go straight to Dyson and they sorted me out pretty quickly though it really wasn't that apparent at first that I had to go to Dyson and not the Ebay seller (which was third party I think).

This is a fantastic deal IMO. I sure as hell couldn't / can't afford a 400 USD vacuum cleaner right now, I bought it as an impulse when I was very drunk, but goddamn it's a cut above anything else on the market.

Dyson gives the full new warranty on refurbished you purchase directly from Dyson. I have bought a couple of refurbs from them and years later they still work just fine.

Just got this deal, hopefully the Paypal cashback works. Just in time to replace our v10 Cyclone that i've manually repaired multiple times due to trigger failures after like... six years (almost to the day) of pretty heavy use (3 kids). The dang thing still works pretty well; got it for $433 w/ stand and accessories back in the day. So that means it ended up being 19 cents a day to own the v10. Had to replace the battery once, but even though it was just out of warranty Dyson honored it and sent one for free. Noice.

FYI, as I posted in the ebay thread, I just had a DOA unit arrive. Motor runs for 3 seconds and cuts out. This is the SV47 newer model, too. It's pretty pathetic that their QA "refurbished" team didn't catch such an obvious lemon before it went out the door.

That's not true. It clearly states the warranty is 6 months on their website unlike the 2 year warranty on new products.
