This refurbished Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra is praised as a powerful cordless vacuum that cleans well, with the detect feature and multi surface head reducing head swaps on hard floors, carpets, and rugs. Refurb units often arrive looking brand new and can run strongly for years, and Dyson support has resolved some issues quickly. The main cautions are the short 6 month warranty on Dyson direct refurbs, a small dust bin that fills fast, and occasional DOA or sensor failures. A solid value if you want V15 performance and can accept refurb risk.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. Reported issues include DOA motors that cut out after a few seconds, an auto-sensing feature failure, and even receiving a V8 part labeled for a V15. Dyson support has sometimes resolved the problem quickly, but some units clearly need service or replacement.

  • The deal can be stacked with eBay coupons and PayPal Pay in 4 cashback offers, bringing the total to about $240 or even around $215 before tax in some setups. Some buyers also used Capital One or Citi cards and cashback portals to lower the effective price further.

  • Refurbished Dyson vacuums sold directly by Dyson are covered by a 6-month parts-and-labor warranty. Some eBay refurb listings have included a 2-year Allstate warranty, and direct Dyson refurb purchases may have stronger warranty coverage than third-party listings.

  • The unit can arrive looking brand new and has been reported to perform well for months or years. A common tradeoff is that the dust bin is small and fills quickly, so it may need frequent emptying.

As others have said, this is likely because of how your eBay payments are configured. I went into my eBay payments, removed Paypal as a payment method, and then rather than instantly check out with Paypal the only option I had was to go to Paypal's site to finalize purchase (where the Pay in 4 option shows up).More on this here:https://community.ebay.com/t5/Ask...p/34512837I had a different problem -- I saw the Pay in 4 option, tried to check out, on the way I tried adding a new credit card for that payment option and ended bricking it or something. Only option I can get across all Paypal merchants now is the pay monthly which includes a 14.99% interest. I picked that for this deal which added $7. Frustrating but I gave up trying to revive the Pay in 4 option. If someone can advise then great -- otherwise perhaps I'll go into the deal thread (slickdeals.net/f/18824500) and see if anyone else has had this issue.
I learned you can't use Chase or capital one and bricked mine too. I ended up having to use my wife's account to do it. I heard it should reset after a day.

anyone know if i use paypal 20% can i combine it with chase 5% back? or does the chase 5% need to be directly purchased through dyson?
Your credit card will show the payment going to paypal. Unless you have 5% with paypal (doesn't start until dec), you won't get the 5%. Regardless, paypal doesn't accept chase credit card with their pay later program.

I bought some time back from eBay and the unit was like new (or was new?) and has performed great. I've had it for at least a year. The multi surface head along with the detect means I basically never change the head unit when going from hard surface to carpets and rugs. My only issue is that the dust container is small and this thing pics up so much dirt and dust that I have to dump it frequently.
Which one is the multi surface head?

Any experience with these refurbished units? Do people generally have good experience with them? Also any benefit from ordering from Dyson over walmart/Newegg?
I got one on eBay and it looked brand new. Still use it years later

Regarding the 20% PayPal promotion. Does anyone know how long will it take for the 20% to show up in your account. I ended up getting the V11 through Newegg for $199 with coupon. Thanks

Dumb question - but is the 20% PayPal cash back actually 20% cash value? Fine print says it pays in points and point redemption values changes based on yada yada yada.. Can I expect to get enough points to convert to $60 cash?

Ok I was able to buy this same Dyson V15 refurbish through ebay (already a SD posted) for the same listed price however there was a 10 dollar off ebay coupon that made it 289.99. I then checked out using the PayPal pay in 4 option (this is different that PayPal credit) using the "20% cash back on pay later" that I saved to my PayPal account first in the PayPal app rewards section before making this purchase. In order for the pay in 4 option to be eligible for me in ebay I had to remove my PayPal account from my ebay account first then select PayPal as my check out option. It then brought me to a different page where I could select "pay in 4" option. I then processed this paypal payment with my citi 2% double cash card.

I ended up cancelling my Newegg order and ordering through eBay. Newegg order was still processing but they said it might ship and I will have to ship it back. The 2 year warranty is worth the hassle.

The points work similar to credit card points. It'll be a little more than $60 is cash back because you get points on the tax as well.

We wanted to give you a heads up about an unexpected delay with SO# by seller Dyson.

There is no action required on your part as we have requested the seller to process your order as soon as possible. Once processed, you will automatically receive tracking information. <-- anyone else get this
