I got a DOA motor too. Motor cuts out after 10seconds or less of running. Also, there was a gasket bulging out in between the cyclone and motor body.
Went straight to local Dyson service as did not want to lose the 20% Paypal + 25% Walmart@CapitalOne cashback.
Dyson service first asked if I had opened the device and I told them this is how I received it and they were shaking their heads making fun of the refurbish process. They also said that they could not get the serial number to activate the warranty so went ahead and registered on myDyson right on site at the service center.
Funny thing is when I registered the serial#, Dyson sent me an e-mail saying that purchase date is March 2025 and Warranty expires March 2026.
Warranty went through and Service said they will ship me a brand new body and let me on my way.
When I got home, had a chat on the Dyson website and they insisted that eventhough e-mail I got said warranty expires March 2026 actual warranty will expire June 2026.
I have purchased multiple Dyson refurbished in the past and seems like their refurbishing process has gone downhill.
All depends on how lucky you are...
