This refurbished Dyson V15 Detect Total Clean Extra is praised as a powerful cordless vacuum that cleans well, with the detect feature and multi surface head reducing head swaps on hard floors, carpets, and rugs. Refurb units often arrive looking brand new and can run strongly for years, and Dyson support has resolved some issues quickly. The main cautions are the short 6 month warranty on Dyson direct refurbs, a small dust bin that fills fast, and occasional DOA or sensor failures. A solid value if you want V15 performance and can accept refurb risk.
Some refurbished units can arrive looking brand new and keep working for years after purchase.
The multi-surface head and detect feature can reduce the need to swap heads between hard floors and carpets.
Dyson refurb coverage can include a 6-month parts-and-labor warranty for refurbished vacuums.
Dyson support can resolve issues quickly when an auto-sensing feature fails on an eBay refurbished V15.
Refurbished units can arrive DOA, including cases where the motor runs briefly then cuts out.
Warranty coverage can be limited to 6 months on refurbished units, which can be shorter than warranty terms offered with some alternative deals.
The dust bin can be small and fill quickly because the vacuum picks up a lot of dirt and dust.
A refurbished V15 can develop intermittent stoppages after a couple of months due to an engineering or circuit board issue.

I got a DOA motor too. Motor cuts out after 10seconds or less of running. Also, there was a gasket bulging out in between the cyclone and motor body.
Went straight to local Dyson service as did not want to lose the 20% Paypal + 25% Walmart@CapitalOne cashback.
Dyson service first asked if I had opened the device and I told them this is how I received it and they were shaking their heads making fun of the refurbish process. They also said that they could not get the serial number to activate the warranty so went ahead and registered on myDyson right on site at the service center.
Funny thing is when I registered the serial#, Dyson sent me an e-mail saying that purchase date is March 2025 and Warranty expires March 2026.
Warranty went through and Service said they will ship me a brand new body and let me on my way.
When I got home, had a chat on the Dyson website and they insisted that eventhough e-mail I got said warranty expires March 2026 actual warranty will expire June 2026.
I have purchased multiple Dyson refurbished in the past and seems like their refurbishing process has gone downhill.
All depends on how lucky you are...
No Power.
