These CAP ADJUSTABELL dumbbells are a space saving adjustable pair that works well for basic home lifting and supplementing a gym routine. The price landed around $208 to $211 after tax, and the promo code worked with extra savings in some cases. The set has held up fine for months in use, but the plastic adjustment collars and fixed 16 inch length make them awkward for curls, overhead work, and exercises where the dumbbells touch. A solid compact option if you can live with the bulk and slower handling.

  • The promo code reportedly worked and the dumbbells fit the buyer's lifting needs.

  • The 55-lb pair reportedly held up well after a few months of use.

  • The adjustable dumbbells reportedly supported pullups and ring dips for many years of expected use.

  • The deal reportedly combined with an Amex points offer and an extra $15 off.

  • The weight-adjusting collars reportedly use plastic, so dropping them can break the collars over time.

  • The dumbbells reportedly save space but are hard to use during workouts.

  • The dumbbells reportedly have a fixed 16-inch spacing, which can make some exercises awkward.

  • The long ends reportedly hit hips during curls and rotations, making certain movements difficult.

Did some additional research… their website has this model listed and not the one from OP so it's likely newer

Combined with Amex for 60$ off offer stacking with BFCM20. Hopefully this last at least 2 years until a full home gym setup. Thanks!

These will go nice with the Bowflex pair I've had sitting in the corner for 5 years! Thanks! Now it has a friend so it won't be as lonely. 🤣

Bought these a few months ago on sale. Honestly, they work fine. At 55lbs, you shouldn't really be struggling and dropping them. They've held up well. Built a custom stand for them for about $50 from a quick Reddit search. 4x4's and some 2x10's. I'm happy with my purchase. Saved me about $800 from the Rep Peppin ones

Based on? Cost or what is the best brand? Powerblocks are the way to go, but you are going to spend more than $211. If you are just using these to lift to supplement a gym membership these are ok. However, power blocks are the best on the market. I think I paid $600 17 years ago for the U90s and a stand.
Power blocks are definitely not even close to the best on the market. The Rep Pepins are easily the best, the best that are in the lower price point are going to be the Eisenlinks. Realistically, the power blocks with how awkward they are and how much of a pain they are to swap out weights and everything are probably in the lower third now. That said, I have this exact pair and they are pretty solid of cost

Generally... not really. It depends. These are not longterm adjustable dumbbells, as the collars for adjusting the weight are made of plastic. Drop them one too many times and it will break, and since it's plastic, this becomes more of a liability the older they are. This is very much the same issue with Bowflex's old adjustable dumbbells, which is well documented.

Better choices if you're trying to keep costs down, without sacrificing quality/longevity, are either Powerblocks when on sale multiple times a year, or Eisenlink (a copy of Ironmaster's tested-and-proven adjustable dumbbell design.)

I'm going to go for these, a lot more 💸 but the reviews are amazing for all of their products. Not top-tier, but top quality, and I don't have a lot of space.
Do either of you have experience with the other equipment that they make, like the tower?

In for one looks like a good deal. Got the 2 year warranty because bad experience with Bowflex ones back in the day.
I was eyeing the bowflex ones for so long but price was too high. what went wrong? I fear the weights would fall off these adjustable type dumbbells for my overhead press

Seems dead. If the code is only for the black handle... pair of the black handle no longer exists to add to cart
