They listen for sounds and extremely quickly actively cancel most noise by sending cancelling sound waves. It works surprisingly well for not sealing in your ear. The pros with the silicone ear tips were never comfortable for me so these are the best option for people in my same boat. Hope that helps! Good luck!

AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are a strong lower cost option for Apple earbuds, especially if you want better fit and fuller bass than older AirPods models without silicone tips. The ANC is described as surprisingly effective for a non sealing design, handling buses, offices, grocery stores, and even some flights well, though it is not as strong as AirPods Pro and can feel less secure for workouts. The main tradeoff is fit and pressure, which can make them less ideal for gym use or long wear. A solid pick if you want Apple earbuds with ANC at a lower price.

  • The earbuds can work well for moderately noisy situations like bus rides and noisy office phone calls.

    mbaciRamesesThe2nd

  • The sound can be more bass-rich than AirPods Pro models due to bigger drivers.

    mbaciRamesesThe2nd

  • The active noise cancellation can cancel most noise surprisingly well even without forming a tight ear seal.

    drzkrewe

  • The AirPods 4 can include two years of AppleCare when purchased at the $99 price point.

    digital330

  • The active noise cancellation may be limited because the earbuds do not form a seal in the ear.

    masterz13mbaci

  • The earbuds may fall out during gym use, making them a poor fit for workouts.

    mbaci

  • The earbuds can put pressure on the head, which can make long listening sessions uncomfortable.

    frumply

  • The fit may be insecure for some ears, and a secure seal may not be achievable.

I just checked BB price match policy Exclusions apply including, but not limited to, items sold by Marketplace Sellers, Qualified Competitors'service prices, special daily or hourly sales, and items for sale at a Qualified Competitor the Thursday before Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Best Buy didn't price match it.. had to return and bought it from Costco

Don't fret nowadays they can just use the debit card or credit card to look up the transaction and return it back to original payment method.
Google AI told me Walmart completely stopped offering refunds on items if the price drops after purchase.

Makes me blah that I got the AirPods-3G MagSafe-case from Costco a lil' over a year ago (right before the 4G release) for ~$140'ish, and I haven't really been satisfied with them (ie. fit, sound, etc). The spatial feature is decent.

The 4th-gen improved the fit, sound, and offered ANC — all for a lot less $$$. Even latter last year, they were priced very well.

Though USB-A/Lightning case is arguably more user-friendly for me (considering all the Lightning devices/cables that I have).

Dont even bother, Asian resellers are already buying these up like mad by going store to store and doing pickup/outdoor pickup and sending family members and also placing orders un 45 different names as well. How do I know? everyone in retail knows how it goes.

The ANC on these are not as good as pros, obviously because they don't seal. It is good for moderately noisy environments like on a bus but barely ok for a flight. Not recommended for gym either as they fall out of ears pretty easily, but good enough for noisy office phone calls. The sound is more bass rich than pros due to bigger drivers so I still prefer these.
I think they're decent ANC but they put a pressure on my head which I did not like. Shame as I agree they sound pretty decent. Got on my last set of AirPods 2 middle of this year so I'll probably wait for an AirPods 5 or something at this point.

What is the difference with this one https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-...1381374703 that also says it is ANC and comes with a USB-C charging case?

Edit: Chatted with Walmart and the listing was edited to say the following: Noise control technology "Sound Isolation"
