You need to have the correct settings on. They have 3 settings all motion, vehicles and people. I've had this Eufy cam for a year now and it has not had an issue.

I've had the exact opposite experience (albeit only have 2). They detect almost too much motion, to include spiders and leaves floating by. Working great for me. Love the solar charging.

Works great for me, have no issues with motion detection, at times it detects too much but its a don't care due to lots of sun for charging and huge storage space. Setup can be complex and the App is a little weird imho but fairly easy to navigate. If in doubt, turn off motion detection and anything moving 'like a human' still gets captured from what i have seen, plenty of cats etc. I'm in the warm south and no issues with battery life. Cold weather and snow will impact it all.

I had 2 of them and both of them had issues loosing wifi connection for no reason while connected to HomeBase3. No matter the weather all year long. Especially at night when i needed it most watching over my driveway.
All the other ones i have from Eufy are working perfect (2 of S300 and S220).
Ended up returning one and struggling for 2 years with the one i kept until recently when i finally decided to take it down and replace it with the new S4 which after a few weeks is working perfectly fine.

It relies on PIR sensor to detect motion so probably the bear is too far away?

Few letdowns after I got the camera during prime day...
Minimum 5s cooldown
No animal detection but it mistake a sparrow as a person...
If you walk right under the camera it may stop tracking
No expansion
Feels like this device is a gateway drug for their camera hub :/

I have this camera along with a number of ring cameras and an NVR with PoE cameras. I got this to aim at our cars in front since it's higher resolution and has motion detection. It works well for that purpose and then I can go back and review the NVR from that period. The Eufy camera is slower to respond or send notifications than the ring camera but overall it serves its purpose.

My Eufy door camera is pretty good at motion detection. My main camera system is a Swann and I use these cheaper ones for areas the Swann doesn't pick up. Whenever someone steps on my porch, I mostly get notifications from both systems although sometimes one or the other doesnt notify. I just got a Tapo system to so I run three different camera systems. The Tapo camera I just got is insanely great and it just uses battery and wifi. Point is, sometimes you need to have more than one system esp for your situation if you have bears in your yard.
