PSA: "Seattle-based electric-bike maker, Rad Power Bikes has told its employees it would be facing shutdown in January 2026 if it doesn't get new funding, or get acquired. According to TechCrunch, the company's leadership "still fighting to find ways to continue," and "the cessation of Rad's operations is not a foregone conclusion," according to the email, which was sent by Rad Power's "people team."

use the paypal "pay in 4" for another 20% off taking it down to roughly $640.
then i think if you use bank of america card for 3% back on internet purchases on paypal it would take it down to roughly $620

The Radster Trail Large stands out as a heavy but polished e bike with strong value at the sale price, especially when the PayPal offer drops it to around $640. It fits riders about 5 foot 7 to 6 foot 4 with a 27 to 35 inch inseam, and the large red frame is the version on sale. The bike is praised for solid components, smooth rides, and easy assembly with good video guidance. Main cautions are its weight, rear hub motor maintenance hassle, final sale status, and ongoing Rad support and battery safety concerns.

  • The Radster Trail Large fit guidance covers riders with 5'7"-6'4" height and 27"-35" inseam.

    kctimmy

  • PayPal Pay in 4 can schedule four payments a couple weeks apart without interest charges.

    jcr0ss

  • The bike can be assembled with video directions and a manageable number of steps.

    jcr0ss

  • The large Trail model can reach about 25 mph on neighborhood rides after setup.

    jcr0ss

  • Best Buy return policy can be listed as final sale, which limits return options for this bike.

    dezo

  • A brake sensor error can occur from a missing internal adjustment spring in the TEKTRO magnetic brake lever switch.

    ballz50401

  • PayPal 20% rewards may not appear during Best Buy checkout and can show up later as pending points.

    froznwaffles

  • The bike can be very heavy, which can make delivery handling and transport more difficult.

it doesn't have anything to do with specific stores. you can use it at best buy, as long as you pay with Paypal and have the 20% off pay in 4 added to your account. source: myself, i used it at best buy and have $248 worth of paypal rewards pending. you can use the pay in 4 multiple times too. i didn't check if there is any limit but i already used it twice and have two pending rewards totaling over $330

Hey, do you pay off the full amount right away so you don't get impacted by any PayPal fixed interest rate?

You don't payoff the full amount right away but there won't be any interest. It schedules the 4 payment dates a couple weeks apart and it will automatically do them starting with the first one right away. For example I paid $310.65 right away and this is my schedule.
The payments are to your credit card you choose at checkout for the "pay in 4"
Your payment schedule
  • $310.65 on Dec 8, 2025
  • $310.65 on Dec 24, 2025
  • $310.65 on Jan 9, 2026

The specs on this are pretty great, especially for the price, but man rear-mounted motors on ebikes are so annoying. If you're getting this I highly recommend getting a bike stand capable of holding this 78lb monster because changing the rear tube is going to be a PITA and if you don't have one you'll risk damaging the rear derailleur while you struggle with getting everything off.

Solid ebike and at an unheard of price. If I didn't have a bike already, I'd be buying this.

This one has 27.5 in wheels with 3 inch tires which I personally do not like because of more rolling resistance and 3 inch tires won't allow you to get back home on a bus bike rack if it breaks down.

The deal is also available for the commuter version which has 29 inch wheels and 2.2 inch tires.

Looking at images for both bikes, the only difference I can spot is the front fender on the road model has more coverage and it comes with a chain guard.

If you really wanted to be slick you'd also buy through a CB portal and save even more. Like an extra 18% with one in particular I cannot name.

As mentioned before, avoid RadPower. They're bankrupt and going out of business. Unless you have a local bike shop willing to work on this, I'd look elsewhere.
