I'm in Atlanta and know that Kroger's deals vary be region.
Instead of doing the typical Turkey and dressing, we always treat ourself to prime rib.
Publix always has it on sale, but it's 10.99 per pound.
I get that beef prices have skyrocketed, but this would definitely be a better deal.

Thanks!I really don't eat that much beef, but prime rib is a treat during the holidays.I remember a couple of years ago at Publix it would be $7.99/lb during Thanksgiving, but right now beef prices are high across the board.

The Publix sale on prime rib roasts are closer to Christmas. I usually buy a few each year and have the meat department cut them into steaks.

Most prime rib is still choice grade, most couldn't tell the difference between prime grade prime rib or choice grade. You wallet could. Google the difference
"prime" rib does not refer to USDA "prime" grade but rather a type of roast cut from primal rib section and sold either bone-in or boneless.
"choice" ribeye (or even "select" ewww) can be cut into a "prime" rib.
My kroger in dallas area offers $799 boneless ribeye (choice) which could maybe be purchased as a prime rib if butcher was nice (which he isn't). They are selling as pre-cut ribeye steaks but $799/lb is still a great price if you can find some that have nice marbling.
