These are junk, i can't believe they still manufacture spade bits without the tip being threaded. Even Menards brand ones with a threaded tip will cut better than these

They're useful for specific applications like building furniture where you need to have control over how fast you are boring into the wood.
Provided they are sharp there is no reason they won't cut well.

Having used these professionally in carpentry work, they're fine and fast for most tasks related to that. Haven't had any complaints.
