Then next time when it expires on 11/30/26, if you renewed up to and including 1/31/27, your new expiration date will revert to 11/30/27. But if you wait over 2 months from your past expiration until 2/1/27 it will be 2/28/27. Costco is the same but Sams Club goes to the exact day from renewal.
So, even if you membership isn't expired yet, you can still use the renewal code.
I made the same mistake and went thru the payment process without realizing that I was upgrading my membership, not renewing it, had to call to cancel the upgrade.
It worked, but I should've waited until Dec. to renew.
I also need to renew my Costco membership...
