This BJ's renewal deal is a very cheap way to reactivate an expired membership, with the best results coming from the posted renewal link after signing in first. The $5 price often shows up correctly even when the promo code fails, and some accounts can be renewed through chat or on a phone or computer browser. The main catch is eligibility, since current members, active accounts, and some long expired accounts may be pushed to a $20 Plus upgrade or blocked entirely. Auto renew can also turn back on, so it is worth checking the renewal settings afterward.
The renewal link can load the $5 offer after login, letting expired accounts renew successfully online.
The $5 renewal can update the membership expiration date correctly after payment, including cases where the code entry failed.
Chat support can sometimes apply the $5 renewal or switch an upgrade to the regular membership for $5.
The renewal process can work on mobile when the app or direct promo flow fails, using the provided web link instead.
Promo code entry can fail with an error like "promo code has not been applied," requiring the correct renewal link method.
The renewal offer can behave differently depending on account status, including cases where it upgrades Club+ for $20 instead of renewing for $5.
The renewal page can show a blank screen or fail unless opened in a private browser or accessed through the proper renewal flow.
Auto-renewal can start after purchase and may charge a $60 annual renewal fee unless cancellation is handled before the renewal date.
