I used to buy these every year but stopped last year. First of all, in most places the savings is only around $5 per haircut. You can usually get coupons each month to discount it that much. And plus, if they make a mistake and charge you the wrong amount, they have no way to fix it or put money back on the card and the customer service people for these gift cards won't do anything.

greatclips coupons arent ready when you needed it most.

just a $5 in saving for this year. not that big in saving considering in the current economy, you have to pay ahead and people lose giftcards easily.

a tip from someone who has been using these kind of giftcards starting at $9.99 per haircut. take a picture of your giftcard # and pin. they can take that image too if you lose your physical card. its their backup plan incase their pos cant scan your card. by entering the giftcard #.

$5 in saving is nothing comparing to how much we tip them in return on avg. so no need to invest too much on these gift cards.

as said. $5 on avg. stick with your chosen hair stylist until they leave, then try a new one again until you find the replacement. good stylist doesnt stay there long.

they would chop your hair off the next time if you tip them $2 or even $3 at this economy.

This is my concern as well. The staff at my nearest location is great at men's haircuts. I had them take pics on all sides last time the stylist absolutely nailed the cut I wanted. So each future visit I show them the pictures on my phone and I get the identical ideal cut.

But unfortunately these same stylists are quite terrible when operating the digital point of sale system. They do know how to input the coupons perfectly though. I usually stick to paying with cash and also tipping with cash to avoid any nonsense. Usual tip is $5 regardless of coupons applied.

When coupons go dry these come handy. If there is one floating for 5 off please advise.

The way to think of it is that you're guaranteed a certain number of haircuts, regardless of price. I paid $10.99 in 2020, $11.99 in 2021, $11.99 in 2022, and $13.99 in 2024. That's almost a 50% jump in five years.
But suppose I purchased four 10-haircut cards, I would save $50 per card in 2025, or $200 total over five years. Even considering inflation at around 7%, you'll come out ahead, since 1.07^5 is approximately 40%.

27 percent over 5 years total... still a lot.

ha, here in nj it went from $18/19 in that time frame to $24. So even with my prepaid discount card of 15.99 with at $5 a tip I'm still paying $21 every month. When this card runs out in 4 more haircuts I'm done. Going back to shaving my own head. Sick of the BS of everything upping prices exponentially in a short time frame.

The point of these cards is you can keep using them even after prices go up. Here the haircut price is around $23 so the $5 discount isn't as good as the $15 gift card.Wish I bought more of the $9.99 cards as those were a steal.

They haven't had the $9.99 ones in almost 5 or 6 years. If you put your money in the market, you would have more money than these savings.

And again, if there is any issue with the money on these gift cards, their customer service will absolutely do nothing (I know from experience.)

If a haircut is $23 in your area, they will not be selling these foir $14.99, it will probably be more like $18 or $19 in your area. The $14.99 is going to be in areas where the cost of a haircut is $19 or $20

If you think it is worth it to buy these and stock up on haircuts for the next 10 years, go for it.

I have changed my opinion on this...they have lowered the price of these cards...my store that was charging $19.99 last year has them for $16.99 this year. I guess not to many people bought it at the higher price. So yes, for $7 off each haircut it is now worth it.
