I hate how they use pictures of all the Dewalt tools with the battery, for these tool only listings

That's not a battery pictured, that's part of the tool.

You're right. It was actually a light they had listed on another thread that I noticed they did that on and then this one just looked like it had one.

Having both, I get cleaner lines with an oscillating tool if I need to do like an outlet or whatever. Where I like/hate this thing, is with the bits I can control the depth of the cut. So if I don't know for sure if there's a pipe/electrical behind the wall, or in the case of my bathroom, where they put dry wall over tile. I can cut without hesitation by changing the plunge depth. The thing I hate, and this is probably being a noob, is that the bit falls in with too much force.
Edit, if you're a beginner or new home owner, get the oscillating tool. You can get some carbide blades to help cut the occasional nails and stuff too beyond drywall. But assuming you know that much.

This tool is supper useful when installing a new drywall that covers outlets. Then you don't need to know precise location of the outlet, just the center: you just jab this tool in the middle of the outlet and use smooth end of the bit to ride along side of the outlet box, making it perfect cut out.

I do question though if it's worth for DIY folks who already have a small handheld router, which can be used instead, especially that the router might have a dust collecting attachment.

Honestly, I would pass. I bought this on a whim and always use the oscillating tool. It's pretty easy for this thing to go all over place, versus a flat blade. I am not a drywall expert by any means so it could be me, but if I could do it again, I would pass.
