No matter the price, I can't wrap my head around how we have been conditioned to PAY FOR ADS.
Has there ever been a time where you didn't pay for ads with any form of cable other than the major studio add-ons like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax?

Guess they got me back after dropped them when they hit me with price increase to cover their losses over their bad decision n losing all those subscribers. Now bring me some Star Wars spinoffs ASAP.

I assume he's talking about Amex BCP which gets you $10 a month statement credit.

Honestly though I'd rather pay $20 ($10 net) for Disney Hulu no commercials, than $5 for free with ads, if you have or get that card.
The Amex BCE card also has $7 D+ statement credit. You have to make sure to sign up for it on your Amex account.

The past few years they usually have a promo for $20 for a year. They haven't announced any Black Friday deals yet this year, not sure whether or not they are going to. We'll have to wait and see if they have any offers before this week is over.

I am assuming that this cannot work for existing customers?
Correct, AND you have to be cancelled for 30 days before they'll consider you a "new" customer.

You must be young. Cable originally differentiated itself by not having ads. You'd be surprised at how much worse everything gets over time in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. Crazy I know.
Only premium cable channels didn't have ads. I'm a GenX guy and I remember there being more channels that had no ads, but ads crept into everything except HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and similar "premium" channels. Every other channel had ads by the 1990s.

For those waiting for the "Hulu Only" deal, please realize that the standalone Hulu app will be eliminated in 2026. Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN will all be accessed from one unified app. Which will, of course, advertise the shows you haven't paid for access to. I just hope Disney incorporates some of Hulu's elements into it, because even with the current redesign it's still not great.

My prediction is the unified app will be out by June if not sooner. I don't work for Disney, so I'm just guessing, but it should be sooner rather than later.

After cancelling the Disney/Hulu/Max Bundle when the price went up a couple months ago, I was suckered back into this deal.
Is anyone else finding that you can log into Disney properly, but Hulu says I don't have a subscription when signing in with the Disney login?
I do notice the Disney app now has Hulu programming built-in, but I was surprised the separate Hulu app wasn't functioning for me.

I was able to sign up for this thru the Disney+ website. So when I log in, that's fine.

But when I login to the Hulu website using the same username/PW, it does have my info - but only offers me a free trial (or full price subscription option).

I guess I'll be accessing all Hulu/Disney+ content using the Disney+ website or app.
After clicking "[hulu] Activate and stream here >" under "Your Other Services" under "Manage Your Account" on Disney+, I have been able to access Hulu contents on Hulu.

PSA: If you don't need the Hulu and happen to live near a Krogers, you can get Kroger Boost membership (free same day delivery) + Disney included for $50 for 1 year (Black Friday, half off membership price). That's like $4 a month. I already get Hulu for $1.99 with student discount, so I went the Kroger route instead
Aren't you paying a $1 more in that case?
