PSA: If you don't need the Hulu and happen to live near a Krogers, you can get Kroger Boost membership (free same day delivery) + Disney included for $50 for 1 year (Black Friday, half off membership price). That's like $4 a month. I already get Hulu for $1.99 with student discount, so I went the Kroger route instead

TY for sharing. Will still do this but it's a tougher call at $5. Hulu is worth $0 to me and Disney Plus is iffy, at best.

Elaborate on Amex deets please?
Using the amex platinum $25 a month can be used for other streaming platforms for a better value.
If you have a blue cash everyday (outstanding card with 3% cash back on online shopping, gas, and groceries), you can finally use the $7 per month credit for this. That wasn't being used on my account and finally using it without money out of pocket

Them stifling free speech with Kimmel made me finally cancel this. Disney needs to fire the morons that made that decision to earn back trust first.
This was us as well and even if they gave it for free, I wouldn't sub. Left, right, or center, it doesn't matter. Haven't missed them yet.

If you sign up for the $5 deal, anyone know if you can later upgrade to ad free for $10 more (since they are offering ad free for $15 now), or is that a one time thing you have to select at signup?

You understand you're able to pause and play at will right?
I do understand that. We just hate to pause the show for a bathroom break, only to have a 2 minute commercial start as soon as we hit resume.

But then that's not the point. No reason to pause if you know you are going to be getting ads.

If you have ad free then just pause for your own breaks.

You're saying that you appreciate the ads because they give you the ability for bio breaks, but you can create your own bio breaks on ad free.

I appreciate being able to pee on my own terms, not when the company decides it's appropriate for me to relieve myself.

No it will not be the same price. Ad free is usually $20+

Last year the Hulu price was 99 cents. Two years ago the Hulu deal was 1.99.The Disney add on was 2.99. So this make it the same as two years ago and $1 more than last year.
Disney bought Hulu so the Hulu app is being integrated

You must be young. They use to have this thing called cable tv. You'd be surprised how many ads you saw. And you had to pay. Crazy I know
With cable you paid for the delivery of the cable channels, and not the content. The content was still paid for by ads.

If that was true then why are different tiers of cable plans? The 50+ channel plan was a lot cheaper than the 1000+ channel plan. The delivery wasn't all that different.

These streaming deals always get sidetracked by people who want everything and pay nothing for it. The ads on the streaming services are much shorter than broadcast or cable. Someone has to make up for it and that is the consumer. If that's not good enough for you then pay full price for no ads and stop whining.

No. You have to pay full price.

How to fix this?
I have no figure that out yet. I am not seeing others having issues paying so I am wondering if it's isolated to a limited number of new sign ups.

I have BCP and received $10 statement credit monthly for my disney+hulu+espn+ subscription. If I switch to this plan, will Amex give me $5 every month? The T&C doesn't specify any minimal purchase amount and only states Amex would pay up to $10 per month. Any fellow BCP holder has any experience with subscription fee less than $10 and getting all the fee back? Thanks.

No matter the price, I can't wrap my head around how we have been conditioned to PAY FOR ADS.
Unless you're getting your content from an antenna (or the high seas), you're paying for ads, no? Cable? Satellite?
