PSA: If you don't need the Hulu and happen to live near a Krogers, you can get Kroger Boost membership (free same day delivery) + Disney included for $50 for 1 year (Black Friday, half off membership price). That's like $4 a month. I already get Hulu for $1.99 with student discount, so I went the Kroger route instead

TY for sharing. Will still do this but it's a tougher call at $5. Hulu is worth $0 to me and Disney Plus is iffy, at best.

edit: It's not available via amex app or on the website in account offers (at least for me). I had to do a Google search for it, and find it like that to enroll.

trying to use my Amex card, keeps giving me errors. Called amex, they saying card is fine.

The concept of ads is simple. Disney offers the service at $15 a month. Advertiser comes in and says, "hey Disney we'll give you x amount of money per person that views our ad." So Disney says, "in that case we can give the service for $5 a month to the people who will watch ads"
Even if Disney wanted to make 0 profit on Disney plus and just charge people the amount it costs to maintain, an ad service would allow them to provide that service at a cheaper price to consumers.

I guess if covered you are fine but Starz is also offering $12 for an entire year if you sign up direct with them today
