Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Switch is a solid arcade racer, and the $30 Walmart price undercuts other Black Friday listings by about $10. The game itself is described as lots of fun and very solid, and the Switch 2 upgrade path adds value for future owners. The upgrade is normally $10, but it is on sale for $5 through 12,12, with the physical cartridge likely still needed on Switch 2. Check the case before gifting, since one copy arrived without the cartridge.
Common Questions (3)
The regular Switch 2 upgrade is $10, but it is reportedly 50% off for $5 starting today and ending 12/12. The Switch 2 version itself is also described as releasing in early December.
Walmart's price is $30, which is about $14.99 less than the next best reputable price starting at $44.99. One shopper also noted it was about $10 cheaper than anywhere else on Black Friday.
The upgrade process is expected to work like other Switch 1-to-Switch 2 upgrades: you can play the Switch 1 version first, then online it prompts you to pay for the upgrade. The physical cartridge will likely still need to be inserted on Switch 2 to start the upgrade.
