Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Switch is a solid arcade racer, and the $30 Walmart price undercuts other Black Friday listings by about $10. The game itself is described as lots of fun and very solid, and the Switch 2 upgrade path adds value for future owners. The upgrade is normally $10, but it is on sale for $5 through 12,12, with the physical cartridge likely still needed on Switch 2. Check the case before gifting, since one copy arrived without the cartridge.
Switch 2 owners can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for $5 during the early December window.
The upgrade process reportedly allows playing on Switch 1 first, with limitations, before the Switch 2 upgrade prompt appears.
Walmart shipping can be free with a Walmart+ 30-day trial or on $35+ orders, which can reduce total checkout cost.
The game has been described as lots of fun and very solid after delivery on a PlayStation 5.
The Switch 2 upgrade is described as $10 regularly, with a separate expectation of a 50% off week around the Switch 2 digital launch.
The Switch 2 upgrade reportedly requires being online and inserting the physical cartridge into Switch 2 to initiate the upgrade.
Some copies have arrived with missing disc or cartridge in the case, so gifting plans may require checking packaging immediately.
Price matching may fail, as a $45 Best Buy purchase was returned after Walmart would not price match a FedEx shipment.
