$10 price increase from a couple days ago, 9070 XT Challenger is still $570 if you can do a larger card

I have this card and it has noticeable coil whine at load. Wonder if the ASRock one is better

Coil whine is YMMV for every card. You can buy 10 of the same gpu and some will have coil whine, some won't. Some will be higher pitched louder, some lower. It's all YMMV.

GPU coil whine is caused by inductors working harder than normal to do the job your PSU is suppose to do. This vibration is most often due to high ripple and noise present in the DC power delivered by the PSU. A PSU that lacks effective ripple suppression increases the load on the GPU's own power components, forcing them to work harder and whine louder. The same 12V rail powers your CPU, which means more stress for your motherboard's vrms, too. Most people do the quick fix by exchanging for another GPU (coil lottery) but upgrading your PSU is the best way to address the root cause (dirty power).

To mitigate coil whine, you ideally want a PSU that can stay below 30 mV or even 20 mV on the 12V rail under 100% load. Attached below is an image of the Corsair RM1000X's ripple suppression results, showing 23.9 mV (good) at 100% load on the 12V rail. Test results from hwbusters.com. [hwbusters.com]

I assume this would not pair well with an AMD 3800x?

Both increased their price to $580. It's really true about bf deals. The best deals are days before not the day of.

I'm have both and my reaper is unnoticeable the asrock is unbearable.I also think that coil whine is a mostly YMMV type phenomenon. A gpu can sound different on different psus
