EGO recommends no more than 2: "The extension pole increases the machine length by 3.28 ft (100cm), extending the cutting range. It should be connected between the pole saw attachment and the power head. A maximum of two extension poles can be used on one machine."
How many of these can you connect together before it becomes in wildly/unstable?
it's a good way to train to be a medieval pike infantry. I've had 4 on the expand-it's (the other brands connection type) and I had to push it up with the trunk as support and drag it over to the spot I needed it, impossible (for me at least) to solo 4 extensions.

Oh interesting, that would mean the built -in length plus two. Seems reasonably tall.
Great deal, I had one that I paid about $50 for and used it with the pole saw and hedge trimmer. It is good quality but it does get trickier to use because of the length and weight of the attachments. Grabbing another one for those taller branches.

The problem with metal is that it bends permanently due to its weight and length past 2. The commercial carbon fiber one is better at longer lengths since it's stiff and wobbles less. I'm ok with using 3 on the carbon fiber saw.
