* There aren't fake contacts
* Contact prices are massively inflated
This deal is still high in my opinion. I've used Acuvue Oasys for like a decade now and you have to hunt for a deal and buy in bulk. Most recently, I used OptiContacts to get 4x12-Pack for $169, bringing the price to around $3.50/ea. The deal in OP comes out to $4.83/ea before taxes.
There were some good aggregate pricing sites but most of them have been bought and paid for now. The only way to find a good deal is to set aside a half hour and click through a ton of offers and note their final checkout pricing. A lot of sites look cheap but add an "order fee" while others don't. A lot of promoted Google Shopping Ads will take you to a special landing page where the exact same product (with a different URL) is like 40% cheaper. If you see anything around the $3.50-$3.75 territory I'd say jump at it.
PS: you can get free eye exams done online to get a prescription. I was sick of paying $90 for a test every year so just started doing it with my phone and laptop and have never had an issue. No, I don't care if I get cataracts or glaucoma.
