I just wanted to update the thread with my experience this morning. I am a current subscriber and based on some of the comments in this thread, thought I would try to contact chat to see if they could apply this promotion my current account. My chat person was only equipped with processing generic chat scripts and unable to help with the promotion. I asked to speak to an elevated chat rep. and they switched me over to a support phone call instead.

When I eventually was connected, he said he couldn't help because the system wouldn't allow him to, etc. I then asked if he could do the immediate cancellation so I could try on the website while I had him connected. He did so, I logged out of my account, chose the $4.99 a month option, then it prompted me for the "upgrade" to premium deal for $14.99, then I was able to sign up just fine under the same email address. So hopefully if you attempt to do this, they might know what to do now. Good luck!

I was able to get a refund for my current subscription from support and re-subscribe for the Black Friday discount. Thanks for the help everyone! It'll be $5 a month after the Amex Rewards discount.

You cannot add hbo to this plan from what I understand. Only to Hulu subscription. Check before you cancel.

Nope.. wasn't able to use my Amex.. it's almost like Disney is blocking from allowing to use Amex cards to not get the Amex perk? I had to switch to my Wells Fargo card that just gives 3x cash back for streaming services. That worked right away.. hmm, suspicious.

I will switch again back to Amex before the next monthly charge and hopefully it takes because the Amex deal is good through Jan 2026. I forget the exact date.

After going thru 3 reps, the last rep resynchronized my account, whatever that means and that worked.

I already had Disney+ premium so I just did the chat instant cancel and resubscribe dance for the bundle. Upon resubscribing moments ago, it auto-populated my AmEx details. When I 'submitted' the order, it then said there was an issue with the card and to try another. I went to 'change' my card, entered in all of the same AmEx card details, and it worked. I will note when filling in the billing zip it popped up two 'city' choices for the zip which were new.

So, best of luck switching back to your AmEx, I'm optimistic it will work when you try. Good luck!

Does anyone here know how this deal interacts w/ the T-Mobile Hulu on Us promo?

That is Hulu + ads, and you can add Disney + ads for $1. I want Premium and I'm not sure there's anyway to do better than this offer, just seeing if T-mo drops the price further.

Thanks for this! I didn't even think to try asking them to cancel me earlier, as mine ends on the 1st and wasn't sure if it would even let me. I had separate subs for both D+ and Hulu and they were super friendly and understanding, knowing exactly what I wanted to do, and they ended my subs early, and then I was able to re-subscribe with the deal under the same account! And no issue using my Amex Platinum (which I can use the new Youtube TV credit too).
