Skip the saute pan and get a rondeau. Sauté pan handle takes up too much space and realistically you aren't flipping food in a sauté pan anyway. Rondeau is way more versatile.

That's why I sold mine on the sauté pan . Like it won't even fit in the damn sink

Anyone have comparable at Costco? I'd prefer having that peace of mind of return with Costco if they rust or spot vs Macys

I'm also between these two. With Costco they have a 13 piece on sale for $650 and you also get a 8" pan, 12" pan, 3 quart sauce pan, steamer insert. The pot included is 8 quart instead of 6 quart. They both have 10" pan, 2 quart covered sauce pan, 3 quart covered saute pan. A lot of people say the steamer insert is really useful, and I think I would want to add a 12" frying pan which is around $120 on sale. The 8 quart pot is probably more useful than the 6 quart in the Macy's set and if you wanted to buy that 8 quart pot on its own it's like $300. So I'm leaning towards the Costco set to also have their return peace of mind like you said, but for $300 after a coupon the Macy's one seems like a steal if you want to slowly add a couple more pieces down the line.

All-clad stainless steel will last you a lot longer. Hexclad is a hybrid of stainless with a nonstick coating, it works well but all nonstick start to break down after a few years and inevitably get scratched ruining the surface. Also can't heat them above 500 because the ceramic will get ruined.

It was a pricing error and for the D5 series. One of the best price mistakes I've gotten in on.
