The short answer is yes, getting the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra for $300 or less is the smarter move right now.
The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra is essentially a Dreame L40 Ultra clone (MOVA is a Dreame sub-brand). They both offer the full flagship dock experience with hot water mop washing, hot air drying, auto dustbin emptying, and the crucial corner-cleaning extendable side brush. The main difference is that the L40 Ultra can completely remove its mop pads for vacuum-only runs, while the MOVA P10 just lifts them (10.5mm) for carpet avoidance. If you have mostly hard floors or low/medium-pile carpet, the lift is perfectly fine. The $100+ savings for the MOVA makes it the clear winner unless you have very thick, high-pile carpet where the L40's full mop removal is a necessity.

Fyi I bought this two weeks ago from Amazon for 399.99. I just did a chat with them and they refunded me the difference.

The Dreame L40 Ultra and the Mova P10 Pro Ultra are nearly identical, and their parts are fully interchangeable. (They might actually be truly identical, with one or two features purposely disabled on one version or the other for differentiation purposes.) The Dreame can eject its mops in the base station so they don't wet the carpets and then automatically reload them when needed, which may seem cool but it's functionally equivalent to doing a "Vacuum then Mop" task on the Mova, where it doesn't wet the mops until the robot returns to the dock between vacuuming and mopping. The Mova supposedly has a nominally stronger vacuum and slightly better navigation, according to Vacuum Wars tests, but I can't imagine it's truly significant.

Both are feature-packed vacuums, so go with whichever is cheaper at the moment. Right now, that's the Dreame using this promotion. This is an amazing price if you can get it. Just a month ago, both versions cost hundreds more than today.

Both companies (actually, both divisions - they're probably the same company, but they deny it if you ask) are known for their totally sucky customer service (and they might be the same people in the same office anyway). If you get lucky and don't get a unit with problems, you'll be happy with either one because they're great machines. If you do need help from Mova or Dreame support, prepare for frustration, unknowledgeable agents, conflicting responses, and long delays before eventually getting what you need. Both have had quality issues (mostly stuck laser sensors and cracked wheels) and are running around 10% 1-star ratings on Amazon at the moment, although Mova has been doing slightly better in the ratings recently (possibly due to their totally illegal $89 coupon offer to anyone who posts a 5-star review and sends a screenshot).

The Dreame L40 Ultra is a feature packed robot vacuum and mop that stands out for strong floor cleaning, smart navigation, and a full service dock with auto emptying and mop handling. The extendable side brush and mop removal for vacuum only runs are major draws, and the app adds flexible controls like custom suction levels and multi story mapping. The main caveats are weaker carpet performance than hard floors, occasional software oddities, and promo codes that can be finicky or conflict with free add ons. At around $360 to under $400, it lands as a compelling value for mostly hard floor homes.

  • The robot can remove mop pads for vacuum-only runs, which helps keep carpets drier on multi-floor setups.

  • The promo code can bring the L40 Ultra down to about $360 after applying discounts.

    strat002heyqqqqvikranth

  • The dock supports hot water washing and hot air drying along with auto dustbin emptying for hands-off maintenance.

    withMettajm10024

  • The app offers custom cleaning with multiple suction settings, including quiet, standard, turbo, and Max.

    salvorhardin80

  • The AE model lacks an extendible side brush, which can be a deal breaker for edge cleaning needs.

    VirsVirsstrat002

  • Coupon and promo behavior can be inconsistent, including cases where codes show errors or fail to apply initially.

    Z87R4MakJ3590lonestar3

  • Cleaning behavior can become inconsistent over time, including reduced edge cleaning and mop or side brush extension.

    elohel

  • Support and app-dependent features can become limited if the manufacturer or app support ends, turning the robot into a "paperweight."

Just got the discount applied. Got the same messaging about the coupon not applying, but when I bit the bullet anyway and went to purchase anyway, it applied the $40 off.

I have the Dreame L20 for 2 years now. I have owned Eufy, Neato, Roborock, Ecovacs and even Wyze. My L20 is by the far the best overall when it comes to obstacle avoidance and minimal maintenance. Definitely would jump on this if my L20 was dying.

We are needing the best robot vacuum and mop combo out there for under $400. Our entire house is tile. Suggestions or deals?
This one is perfect for it. We have it and it's flawless. At this price, it's a steal. You can get it cheaper refurbed on eBay, but who knows when that deal will come back.

I used a refurb Roomba years ago and liked it. How does this company compare? Is it a good one to get back into robo mop / vacuums? Or is this like the brand-X version of Roomba? For my liking, a $300 tech purchase should have a name behind it for support.

Dreame has 5 of the Top 10 robot vacuums on Vacuum Wars. It's the market leader. I have the L50 Ultra and it's perfect.

The L40 Ultra was the best vacuum on the list not even a year ago.

Do not ever buy a vacuum without first checking out Vacuum Wars YouTube channel or their website:

Lightyears ahead. Roomba is the GM of vacuums. Roomba requires so, so, SO much manual intervention on every run (still have nightmares about the Scooba whine beeps) and we have 4 Dreame bots and rarely have to touch any of them and the floors are clean. In my experience, you don't need to worry about support with Dreame's.

It's day and night difference. Dummy vs smartie. I dumped my Roomba to garage vacuuming.

How does the L40 Ultra compare to the Costco one still in stock, the retail-specific GoVac 300? One site I saw compared it to the model L10 Pro?

I went to look the for the same and cannot find it. After dealing with a terrible RoboRock Q Revo product along with extremely terrible customer service, I am leaning towards buying from Costco

Thanks for the heads-up. Coupon appeared circa 2.5 hours ago when I pulled the trigger…
