Good price. I've gotten the subscription before but didn't listen to it as much as I thought I would. It's just a lot harder to listen to a book summary than something like a podcast, which has a more natural flow and narration.

I got this deal last year and didn't use it much. It doesn't expire til 11/29 and even though I cancelled today (11/27) it won't let me renew at this price.

I got a deal last year this time, canceled it at least like 7 months ago. Didn't really like it, find it useful, etc. I got some promo offer email today, can't find a reason to keep it

I think the general concensus is that we don't use it as much as we could. Sorta like a gym membership.

Anyone knows if all of Blinkist tasks below can be done by a LLM for those of us already subscribed to ChatGPT, Perplexity, MS Copilot, Gemini, etc?

I've had this before I tried to use it. I actually caught them in their transition to leaning in heavily to AI. It's all slop now from the summaries themselves to the narration and not worth it at all. ChatGPT or a similar LLM can do a better job because you're literally getting the same output and can ask follow-up questions instead of just accepting what is given to you. In addition, there are constant upsells even though you're a paid subscriber. Hard pass at any price.

I have this service and I use it daily on my break time and my exercise. It is still worth the discount price in imo, too bad this deal couldn't be used on existing subscription which I got like $10 last year, I am going to create another account to get the deal.
I know there is AI and I have tried couple times, the book summary that AI generated is not really as good as the one generated by blinkist, I think many of their book titles are still pretty good and summarized by nice human touch.

Honestly it feels like they just used Ai to summarize the books. I got this subscription last year, listened to a couple books while commuting and find most of the content to be very high level for each books I listened to and doesn't provide much contents, so I stopped. I still like listening to proper audio books or podcasts better than this. Then again it's super cheap, so you kinda get what you pay for I suppose. If you just want a very high level overview, almost high level as something you read at the back of the book cover, then this is not bad.

Just my 2 cents.
