This Acer Predator Orion refurb looks like a strong-value gaming desktop, pairing an RTX 3070 with an i7 and 16GB of memory for smooth play and solid everyday responsiveness. The package has also arrived in excellent shape for some, sometimes with a Predator keyboard and mouse included, and Acer factory refurbs have a reputation here for landing in near new condition. The main cautions are refurb variability, with reports of dusty fans, cosmetic damage, poor packing, and occasional transit damage or support hassles. A capable gaming tower if you are comfortable with refurb risk.
Acer factory-refurb units can arrive in brand-new or pristine condition with sturdy packaging.
The RTX 3070 configuration can run games smoothly for casual play and general gaming needs.
CrystalDiskInfo can help check SSD health by reading drive hours and read/write counts.
A two-year warranty can reduce risk when buying a refurbished desktop at about $540.
Refurb condition can vary, with some units arriving with scratch or dent damage and prior ownership returns.
Some shipments can suffer poor packaging or transit damage, including bent cases and PCs hanging out of the box.
Fan dust and noisy high-speed fans can be a dealbreaker for some buyers after delivery.
Support and warranty handling can be difficult when the device is registered to another user, requiring claims through the warranty company.

Dusty fans is to me automatic rejection.

I just got an acer with front fan RGB DOA (the fan works) , did you just live with that or were you able to fix that?
I ran crystaldisk on an acer refurb (after I ran all the windows updates.)
I am see 105gb reads / 151gb writes,
power on count 35
power on hours 3 ( i was probably 2 of those hours on updates )
I am interpreting this as a desktop that got beat up during shipping, but wanted anyone else's take

Is this Acer still a better deal because of the i7 CPU, even with 16GB? I pulled the trigger on the Acer because I've been waiting for a 5060 level desktop for around BF

possibly, I not an PC expert, but they maybe have also replaced the SSD , so it's not really conclusive as to how many power on hours there were. seems like there were a lot of power cycles relative to the age of the drive.
the acer refurb desktop I got (on a different deal) , had damage to top of case, and what looks like they reglued some top panel wiring for the usb A and C connectors on top (and there was bent metal near this area). and the bottom front fan RGB, was dead (fan itself works)
