In this case, the cheap headphones are saving $200 compared to buying the 12d by itself.
Give them to a kid and then don't care if they get destroyed, wear them to the gym and let sweat take a toll on them without worry, salvage the drivers/cord/phono plug and use in a DIY project, use them as a lo-fi effect by running audio through them and mic'ing the earpieces, or just throw them away
