I've had one of these for years and have always really liked it. But unless you really want to use the gaming features, I would just get the ONN model that was here on FP a while ago. It was about $50 and I am basically just as satisfied with it. The Nvidia does have a spectacular remote but the ONN one is pretty good too.

My friend has one and it's awesome, the upscaling is really good. I'd buy one but with my luck a new version would be announced the second mine ships.

If there is one item in electronics which held its price without any major discounts , it's the shield .. barely see any offers more than $20 In the last few years .

Not even close to the best. But sadly if you NEED atmos from plex, you need the shield. I gave up atmos as apple tv's are just so much faster and smoother.
